Fall Updates

For the last two-three weeks I've had trouble with my storage unit. Seems that a power failure at the house caused the power supply in both my computer, and the storage unit where I keep all my photos and important stuff to fail. So, I'm waiting for a replacement which should be here this coming week. Then I've got to get my butt in gear and post new stuff. It's been way too long I know. 2 months now? But I've been busting my hump at the new house trying to get it done. Right about new is a good time for some interim photos of it to show the progression. It's pretty much all cleaned up, but there are no walls or ceilings in all but 2 of the rooms. The electric is flying along, and things are pretty much progressing nicely. That's what has been keeping me busy for the last 2 months. I have only shot one wedding lately, and the photos are sitting on the cards, and on a backup folder on my desktop. I only edit them when they are safely stored on my storage unit, so I can't even start going through them until the end of the week.

Oh what else....I applied to join the Fishers Volunteer Fire Department. Yeah, I'm crazy. I know. But I also didn't think that the process would go so quickly. I thought I'd apply, and wait a month or two before I heard back. Instead they called me a week later and asked me to come in for an interview. The first interview went very well, and now I have to go to the Association meeting on Nov. 5th where I get voted on. If I pass, I have to do a physical, and then start their 16 week department training. That'll be 1-3 evenings a week, depending on how frequently I can participate. I wanted to Volunteer at East Rochester, but I never did. I kept driving by the sign at the Fishers station saying "V0lunteers Needed". So I finally decided that I'd just do it. Apply and see what happens. Little did I know that they really need people and they are trying to get a couple of guys through the training program together. Like I said, I'm crazy. I know. Like I wasn't busy enough right? Things have a way of working out though, and while it'll put a strain on my time until the house is finished, I'm excited and scared to death at the same time. Plus, I think this is a much better fit for my life and personality than applying for the Police. About 12 years ago, I took one of those personality career test things in an attempt to figure out what I should do with my life. Police Officer and Firefighter were both on there. So I guess I can't go wrong either way. Strangely enough, Information Technology wasn't on there. Not that that means anything, but maybe there's a lesson in there somewhere.

I still haven't brought my new website live yet, I have lots of photos of the new house to post, and plenty of other goings on as well. Hopefully, there's more to come soon.
