1 Year Anniversary

Angela and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary this past June 28th.

It was a pretty crazy weekend actually. She was out of town in NYC with her sister Ashley, mom and grandma. She had a great time! I was busy with my dad at the LPGA tournament Saturday anyway. We had some corporate tickets so we got to experience the luxury of the whole thing. We had access to the clubhouse, and a lot of gourmet foods all day long. I didn't get any pictures because it was the last few days of the tournament which means non-press photographers are not welcome. It was definitely the way to go though, with those nice tickets. It was a nice warm day, and we got to have breakfast and lunch in an air conditioned tent.

Angela had gotten home around 8 pm and rolled into the Macaroni Grill where we were all meeting up for Ashley's birthday dinner. So that was our Saturday. Went by pretty quick!

Sunday was our anniversary, and we were surprised to get an unexpected visit from my mom in the morning. We hadn't even gotten out of bed yet, but there she and my dad were at the door, with a picnic basket stuffed with all kinds of goodies. Homemade sticky buns, bacon quiche, fruits and coffee. They had also managed to stuff dinner in there too. They gave us two huge porterhouse steaks, pasta salad, garlicscape dip, tomato and mozzarella rolls and mini crab quiche. Here are some shots of our awesome dinner. She also gave us a cool tree called a Japanese maple. My Uncle has one at his house in P.A. and I love it. Thanks a lot mom and dad!

We also got a really cool personalized mug from Joyce and Steve along with a campsite coffee percolator! We are really excited to try that one! Karen and Rick got us some much needed gift certificates for dinner and a movie. Hard to get out to the movies when your pinching pennies. But since Harry Potter is coming out soon, we'll be putting those to good use!! Thanks everyone for the wonderful gifts and well wishes!

Oh the flowers. God if I only knew. Here's a word of advice men. Learn your flowers. Apparently, purple Cymbidium Orchids are not typically in stock. White and green maybe, but not purple. They are also expensive. They are special ordered well in advance. Same goes for Eggplant Calla Lilies. If you can find any of these flowers last minute, you may just end up buying the whole damn stem because the florist can't separately sell individuals on these things. As such, I took a bunch of pictures of these things. Next year, I'm going to print a few pictures and give them to Angela in a vase.

We also had an appointment earlier in the afternoon I forgot to mention. I took a few cell phone pictures of us at the altar as a little 1 year kinda thing. I figure since we own the place it won't be a problem to take a picture there every year ;) I didn't like the cell phone pictures, so the very next time we went out I made sure to bring my camera, flash, and a tripod.

For dessert, we had ordered a small version of our wedding cake. Premier Pastry in Rochester is fantastic, and highly recommended. Not only is the cake amazing, but the guy who owns it was awesome to work with. He fit us into his schedule to make this even though he was booked solid. Since we had spent the whole day together, we were ready to celebrate with some close friends. So we figured it only fitting if we gave Kurtis and Julia and Sara and Denise some of this amazing cake! My diet had gone to hell that whole weekend anyway, but now I'm starting to get back on track.

Thank you my friends for taking some pictures of us! I'm sorry you had to use my crappy little camera with the popup flash, but someone had all the memory cards for my good camera!! Just kidding. Thanks guys for helping us recreate the evening.

The obligatory cake cutting shot. I was given the same instructions this time around as well.

"Don't you dare smoosh that cake into my face!" Yes, dear.

So that was our anniversary! It was crazy to reflect on the past year and how fast it has gone. Happy Anniversary wife! I love you!

Up next, fourth of July, and more weddings!
